Media & Communications Specialist (PT / Freelance)
Job Brief
We are looking for an experienced Media and Communications Specialist with 5+ years’ experience in media, communication or press relations, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry, or Med/Health Technology company or a Contract Research Organisation (CRO). They will be responsible for driving Cisiv’s presence in the media.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have 5 years + experience of Media, Communication and Press relations.
Preferred experience must have been gained either as a journalist (Pharma/ Tech) or working in media and communication for a Pharma /Tech organization or Agency.

We are an established & rapidly-expanding software solutions provider to the Pharmaceutical/CRO industry. Our offerings include a broad package of offerings used for RWE and decentralised clinical research including EDC, eCOA, and eConsent. Cisiv focuses on Real World Late Phase research, which is critical to understanding how medicines behave in real use as opposed to highly controlled clinical trials. Studies can be prospective, retrospective or both, and will include data from hospitals, general practice and gathered directly from patients and carers.

Responsibilities
- Be the main person responsible for driving Cisiv’s presence in the media.
- Proactively create relevant press releases, network and drive the publication of Press release on various media outlets.
- Create and manage relationship with communication channels POC to assure Cisiv content will be published
- Keep up to date with the company updates, market and competitor updates.
- Manage inbound and outbound communication requirements and produce coverage reports
- Work with marketing team to increase presence of Cisiv on conferences and to deliver a monthly newsletter to customer base with relevant internal and market content
Requirements
- Experience driving Media relations in the Pharma industry or Pharma Technology
- Experience in communications and PR roles
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work on own with minimal direct day-to-day supervision
- Ability to connect and network with health and tech journalists
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high degree of personal credibility and professionalism
Salary & Location
The role is for ~8 hours a week or 3 to 4 days per month, with flexibility. The role is part-time / freelance.
We offer a competitive salary package of £45-55k per annum (pro-rated £9-11k p/a), with benefits. If freelance – competitive salary (up to £450/day depending on experience).
We embrace hybrid working and offer a blended working week – combining office and remote working. Our offices continue to be where we connect, collaborate and innovate. We would expect the successful candidate’s attendance at our New Malden office for collaborative working sessions 2-4 times per month on average.
